Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur make up India's most-traveled heritage circuit for a reason — the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, and the Mughal-era monuments of Delhi are all within a manageable 4-5 day loop, connected by good highways.

It's a first-time-visitor favorite, but also genuinely rewarding for repeat travelers who want to slow down and spend more time at each stop than a rushed day trip allows.

What to Know Before You Go

The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays — plan your Agra stop around this if it's a priority.
October to March is the most comfortable window; summer in Agra and Jaipur can be extremely hot.
Traffic around Delhi and Agra can add time to drives — build in some buffer, especially on weekends.
Jaipur's Amber Fort and City Palace are best visited early morning before the heat and crowds build up.

A Suggested Route

Day 1

Delhi

A day covering Old and New Delhi — Red Fort, India Gate, Humayun's Tomb.

Day 2

Delhi to Agra

Drive to Agra, with an afternoon or early evening Taj Mahal visit.

Day 3

Agra to Jaipur

Morning at Agra Fort, then the drive to Jaipur, arriving by evening.

Day 4

Jaipur

A full day at Amber Fort, City Palace, and Jaipur's markets.

Day 5

Jaipur to Delhi

The return drive, with a stop at Hawa Mahal before departing.

Best Time to Visit

October through March is the classic window — daytime temperatures are manageable and evenings are cool. April through June gets very hot across all three cities, and the monsoon (July–September) brings humidity and occasional travel delays, though the Taj Mahal itself is striking against monsoon skies if you don't mind the heat.
