Delhi Heritage City Tour
A traveler's guide — what to know, when to go, and how the route works.
Delhi Heritage City Tour
Delhi's layered history — Mughal, colonial, and modern — is compact enough to see in a single well-planned day. The Red Fort, Qutub Minar, India Gate, and Humayun's Tomb between them cover roughly 800 years of the city's story.
It's a full day of ground to cover, but Delhi's major sights are spread across the city in a way that makes for a logical loop rather than backtracking.
Dates and availability can change. Road conditions, weather, and seasonal closures may affect this route — contact us for the latest information before you travel.
What to Know Before You Go
- The Red Fort is closed on Mondays — worth checking before you plan the day's order.
- October to March is the most comfortable season for a full day of outdoor walking between sites.
- Humayun's Tomb is often called a precursor to the Taj Mahal's design and is less crowded than Delhi's more famous sights.
- Traffic between Old and New Delhi can be heavy — an early start helps make the most of the day.
