Amritsar & Kartarpur Corridor Tour
A traveler's guide — what to know, when to go, and how the route works.
Amritsar & Kartarpur Corridor Tour
Amritsar is one of the most rewarding short trips out of Punjab — the Golden Temple, the evening Wagah Border ceremony, and, for those eligible, a same-day crossing through the Kartarpur Corridor to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan.
At 2-3 days, it's one of the shorter routes on this list, and works well as a standalone weekend trip or an add-on to a longer Punjab itinerary.
Dates and availability can change. Road conditions, weather, and seasonal closures may affect this route — contact us for the latest information before you travel.
What to Know Before You Go
- The Kartarpur Corridor crossing requires advance online registration and, for foreign nationals, a passport — Indian nationals need valid ID.
- The Wagah Border ceremony happens daily before sunset — arrive early, as the venue fills up quickly.
- The Golden Temple complex is open 24 hours; early morning visits are quieter than midday.
- Modest dress and a head covering are required inside the Golden Temple complex — coverings are provided if you don't have your own.
